For the first time in the company's history stretching back over 40 years, the Mercedes-Benz performance brand is presenting a vehicle developed in-house, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. It is also the first car from Mercedes and AMG to feature an aluminium chassis and body for weight savings.
Under the hood is a 6.3 liter V8 putting out 571hp @ 6800rpm and 479 lb-ft @ 4750rpm good for a 0-60mph time of 3.7 seconds and top speed of 198mph.
Styling wise, the most noticeable feature is the return of the famous Gullwing doors originally made famous by the 300SL. These doors make for easy acess even with the SLS AMG's low sitting position.
