2007 Koenigsegg CCX Pictures and Specifications

Although the looks is the same, the CCX is essentially a new car as it has been redesigned to comply to all U.S. regulations. CCX stands for Competition Coupe X and commemorates the 10 year anniversary of the first CC prototype. The CCX features a new front bumper designed to perform better in crash tests as well as provide enhanced brake cooling. New side skirts have been added to increase downforce by increasing underbody area.

The Engine in the CCX retains the incredible performance and power of the CCR engine, while running on US 91 octane fuel and complying with California emission regulations. In order to reach this challenging goal, extensive rework had to be done to emission related items, such as new cylinder heads with larger valve area and more optimally flowing cylinder head ports. Dual smaller injectors per cylinder were integrated, as well as new camshafts, a new carbonfiber individual runner intake plenum, a new engine management system, updated fuel and EVAP system. New exhaust system where the catalytic converters are moved closer to the engine for earlier light-off time. A returnless fuel system has also been implemented with pumps integrated into the new fuel tank. All in all, a heavy rework in order to retain the unique performance of the CCR engine and at the same time comply with the strictest emission regulations in the world.

As expected, the CCX keeps the same great performance as the CCR including a 0-62MPH time of 3.2 seconds, 1/4 mile time of 9.9 seconds @146MPH and top speed over 245MPH.

Koenigsegg Agera R is a 1,115 HP Monster!

While the Aventador was getting all the hype in Geneva, The Koenigsegg Agera R sneaks through the back and makes the Aventador almost seem...well slow which is something I never thought I'd be typing yesterday

On E85 fuel, the Agera R's 5.0 liter Twin Turbo V8 puts out a massive 1,115HP @ 6900rpm and 885 lb-ft of torque @ 4100rpm. All that power combined with a 3,126 curb weight results in a 0-62mph of 2.9 seconds which is amazing considering you would think it would take longer than that just to gain traction with all that power going through the rear wheels. 0-124mph comes in 7.5 seconds. Standard top speed is 233mph though Koenigsegg can "unlock" it to achieve a theoretical top speed of 273mph if the necessary conditions are met, such as road condition, tire wear, service level of car etc. I can't wait to see it actually tested

The luggage space is something Koenigsegg is very proud of. It is the largest luggage compartment in the hypercar world, with a space of over 120 litres. It is so well shaped that it actually can fit the one piece Agera roof/hardtop, meaning the driver can choose to go open or closed at any given time during a longer trip. Given the fact that Koenigsegg has engineered the roof to fit the car, it is actually also possible fit a set of golf clubs. This is unheard of in the hypercar world. Given the high comfort level and the large luggage space, the Agera can truly been seen as one of the first GT hypercars.
Custom Carbon fibre Thule Lightning Roof Box

At the 2011 Geneva Motor show, Koenigsegg presents the Koenigsegg winter package – the first lifestyle packages offered from Koenigsegg. The main element of this package is the exceptional Lightning Roof Box System.

The Lightning Roof Box is developed together with the Swedish rack and roof box manufacturer Thule. The high performance lightweight box is made completely from carbon fibre and has been through several iterations of CFD simulation to ensure it is safe up to 300 km/h, making it the fastest roof box in the world.

The roof box, which has an incorporated roof panel, replaces the normal roof in under 10 minutes. The standard roof is then stored in the luggage compartment in the front of the car, so that when the driver arrives to his destination, the roof box can be quickly removed and the normal roof can be put in place for a more elegant look.

The Lightning roof box truly enables the driver to use the Agera for longer trips with massive luggage. This gives a whole new spectrum of hypercar utilization.

The winter package also includes Michelin snow tires on forged Koenigsegg wheels and custom designed Koenigsegg skis from the Swedish high end ski manufacturer, Extrem.

Part of the winter package is also a Swedish winter resort experience in Åre – Sweden's most popular skiing resort and the place of manufacture of the Koenigsegg skis.

During the stay in Åre, the Koenigsegg customers will be fitted for their skis and they can witness first hand when they are being hand made in "Åres skidfabrik", a state of the art ski production plant.

While their skis are being made, they will be checked into the delightful Copperhill Mountain Lodge that is towering snow-capped forests and sparkling frozen lakes.

The following day the skis are ready for use and Åre´s many and varied ski slopes are available for test runs, in direct access from the Copperhill Mountain Lodge.

Together with the Golf club options this marks the start of the Koenigsegg extended lifestyle program for Koenigsegg cars.

The Agera celebrates 15 years of supercars from Koenigsegg. Agera is the swedish verb "to act" and that this monster does. Under the hood is a twin-turbo V8 putting out 910hp @ 6850 rpm and 812 lb-ft of torque at 5100rpm. 738 lb-ft of which is available at only 2680rpm. Take into account that the Agera only weighs 2832 lbs. and you'd expect some mind-boggling performance numbers. The Agera delivers. 0-62mph in only 3.1 seconds, 0-124mph in 13.7 seconds and a top speed greater than 245mph!

The design is clearly based off the CCX but that's not a bad thing. The wheels, while somewhat ugly, are designed to suck hot air away from the brakes and the hollowed-out tailights allow heat to escape from the engine. Very cool.

By converting the CCX to use biofuel, Koenigsegg was able to create an extreme performance machine that is also eco-friendly. This is a great idea for conscience but as an added bonus Koenigsegg was able to extract an additional 212 HP simply because of the change in fuel! How is this possible? The ethanol in the bio-fuel has a side effect of cooling the combustion chambers and featuring a higher octane value resulting in a total output of 1012 HP and 740 lbs. of torque.

The CCR held the record for fastest production car in the world when it reached 241MPH on Feb 28,2005. A record the Mclaren F1 had held for over 10 years. This time the record only held for 2 months as the Bugatti Veyron hit 249 MPH and later hit 253MPH in the hands of Car & Driver. Records aside, the Koenigsegg CCR is among the most elite supercars and does it with half as many cylinders as the Veyron. Its supercharged V8 puts out 806 HP and 676 ft-lbs. of torque making the CCR good for a 0-60MPH time of 3.1 seconds and a ludicrous 9.9 second 1/4 mile at 146MPH. The CCR is decorated with a ghost symbol. This is to honor the Swedish Fighter Jet Squadron No. 1 which had their fighter jets in the same facility as Koenigsegg now occupies. The ghost was the squadron’s symbol.
