550HP Jaguar XKR-S Revealed

Jaguar turns up the boost for its exclusive high performance model and the result is 550hp and 502 lb-ft of torque making the XKR-S the fastest production Jaguar ever. 0-60mph comes at 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 186mph. It also features a revised suspension and improved aerodynamics. More details to come when its officially introduced in Geneva next week.

2010 Jaguar C-X75 Concept – Electric Supercar of the Future

Sexiest car to come from Jaguar in a long time. The C-X75 was created to celebrate the marque's 75th anniversary and a provide a glimpse into the future. 4 electric motors provide 778 horsepower with approximately 195hp going to each wheel!

2 micro-gas turbines can be used to either recharge the batteries, thus expanding range or provide additional power when needed. My guess is most drivers will use it for the latter. The extended range for this supercar is 560 miles which is more than most gasoline powered cars on the road today. For the first 68 miles, the C-X75 is able to run on battery-power only, providing zero tailpipe emissions.

Enough with the mileage numbers. What really matters is the 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds and top speed of 205mph. Impressive for any supercar and further proof that the green future doesn't have to be as boring as everyone expects.

As of now, Jaguar has no plans to actually produce this beast. Let's hope that changes in the near future.

The addition of a supercharger and twin-air intakes takes the XK to the next level. A 120 HP power boost results in a 0-60mph of 4.9 seconds and effortless acceleration from almost any speed. A unique front bumper, aluminium-finish grilles and bonnet louvers; unique 19 and 20-inch alloy wheel designs and a quad-exhaust system hint that theres something more under the hood. The XKR features a fully automatic 6 speed transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift which boasts the fastest gear changes of any system in the world. It also features a manual mode using steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. It may not be the best looking Jaguar, but is definitely one of the most technologically advanced ever made. This gorgeous Jaguar is probably the best Jag ever produced. It was designed by a group of Jaguar engineers who secretly got together on Saturdays with the goal to build the fastest car in the world. When Jaguar found out about it, they were so impressed they put it in the 1988 Birmingham auto show. Initial reaction was astounding for the car as 1,300 people lined up to buy. Unfortunately only 271 were built as economic conditions changed and many of those 1,300 could no longer afford it. Originally intended to be powered by a V12, Jaguar opted for a twin-turbo charged V6 which allowed a lower weight and smaller size. The 220 part of its name showed Jaguar's intent to get the car up to 220 MPH. They fell short by 7 MPH but I doubt the few lucky owners mind that much.

Successor to the XJ220? The XF10, designed by Fuore, will be powered by a 640 HP V10 giving it a 0-60 under 4 seconds and top speed of 211 MPH. Jaguar's aiming for the Enzo but with more refinement and luxury. Will it be produced is the big question right now and if it is, it will face stiff competition in the growing elite super car class.
