The Apollo is considered by some to be one of the ugliest supercars ever created but the Apollo was never about beauty, it was about achieving the highest level of performance possible. Its aerodynamic styling and low weight of 2645 lbs. show it means business.

Video: Gumpert Apollo on Top Gear

The Gumpert Apollo sets a new record on the Top Gear track even though Hammond rips on it for being one of the the ugliest cars ever created. I actually kind of like it looks from the front though I agree the rear is absolutely hideous.

2007 Gumpert Apollo Pictures and Specifications

The Apollo Sport is an extreme performance machine featuring an 800 HP Bi-Turbo V8 allowing for a 0-60mph of 3 seconds flat and top speed of 224MPH.   With a low weight of 2645 lbs. and a design optimized to increase downforce and reduce drag, the Apollo is a more than capable track car yet contains amenities such as air conditioning,  CD player, DVD Navigation, and rear view camera to make it civil enough for road use as well.
