This car almost makes the Cayenne forgivable...almost.
The Carrera GT is the peak of Porsche technology and any automotive
technology for that matter. Its 604 HP V10 launches the car from 0-60
in 3.5 seconds and then completes the 1/4 mile in 11.4 seconds. The
numbers don't tell the whole story. The Carrera GT is so perfect you
have to wonder if Porsche somehow figured out how to violate the laws of
physics. There is absolutely no body roll yet the ride is not harsh
like most supercars of this stature. Porsche claims the handling is so
well behaved that there was no need for electronic stability control. The Carrera GT features extensive use of ceramics including not only the brakes
but the transmission and drive train of the car. The result is a low
curb weight of 3042 lbs. This technology comes at the high price of
$440,000. I'm currently accepting donations.
