Want a simple way to create a world class supercar? How about combining the chasis of the Lotus Elise with the supercharged V8 engine from the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1? Hennessey has done just that and the result promises to provide insane performance.
The Venom GT weighs in at only 2400 lbs. so there's not much for the 725 hp V8 to push around. But since this is Hennessey we're talking about, the 725 hp version is only the base model. Twin-Turbo variants putting out 1000hp and 1200hp will also be available at an additional cost.
Hennessey plans to manage power output by using a programmable traction control system. CFD (computational fluid dynamic) tested bodywork and down force will also help keep the Venom stable at speed.
Production will be limited to only 10 per year so act fast if you see a 1200hp, 2400lb supercar in your future. Pricing will start at $600,000.

Yeah me too, I hadn’t heard too much about it until about six months ago or so. I wrote an article about it recently. This thing is super fast, I like that they used the Lotus Exige as the idea for this car, it’s got 1200-hp weighs hardly anything, and handles like go-kart, you can’t get much better than that.
