Yea, to quote others, perhaps it does appear "menacing", if that effect is what one desires for their $100k vehicle. Painted wheels would greatly lessen appearance maintenance too. That being said, and as a long time Corvette owner, I would prefer the polished/chrome combo option, especially on vehicles with darker exterior colors. My 2 cents.
